My paper titled “Revisiting ST-GCN Design Choices for Skeleton-Based Continuous Sign Language Recognition” has been accepted for presentation at the Brawijaya International Conference (BIC) 2026. The conference will be held at Wyndham Grand Bangsar, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, from 30 November to 1 December 2026.
I taught four online sessions in FACE-IT 2026: Deep Learning and AI for Images, an international online course hosted by the Faculty of Computer Science, Universitas Brawijaya, for students from around the world. My sessions covered classical visual recognition, dataset engineering and preprocessing, object detection, and image segmentation.
I was promoted to Assistant Professor in Computer Science at the Department of Informatics, Faculty of Computer Science, Universitas Brawijaya.
I have once again joined the Artificial Intelligence Talent Factory (AITF) as a tutor, this time for the programme’s third batch. My team is developing an AI-powered CCTV monitoring system for Sekolah Rakyat (People’s Schools). The system automatically detects inappropriate behaviour, such as physical violence (punching and kicking), smoking, and inappropriate physical contact between students, to help create a safer school environment.
I was invited to give two guest lectures in the Nalara Academy online course: Object Detection (Session 8) and Image Segmentation (Session 9).
I joined the second batch of the Artificial Intelligence Talent Factory (AITF) as a tutor. The programme was initiated by the Ministry of Communication and Digital Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia and co-organised with Universitas Brawijaya. My team developed an AI system that uses large language models (LLMs) to classify socio-economic data.
Over the last three weeks of February 2026, the Introduction to PyTorch Workshop was held at the Faculty of Computer Science, Universitas Brawijaya. I was one of the three speakers and led two of the three days. The hands-on sessions covered all the essential steps in building an AI model, from preparing the data to training, testing, and optimising the model.
My paper titled “Unsupervised Hand Tracking for Sign Language Recognition via Optical Flow and Previous Tracking Data” was accepted for publication in IEEE Access. The work reported in this paper is part of my PhD research.
I received the Student Choice Award for the Lecturer with the Most Dedication in Teaching. The award was presented by the Faculty of Computer Science Students’ Union, based on votes from students.
I joined the Department of Informatics, Faculty of Computer Science, Universitas Brawijaya, as a lecturer.
I was officially awarded my PhD in Engineering by the University of Warwick.
The examiner approved all of my thesis corrections, and I submitted the final version of my thesis to the Doctoral College.
I joined the Department of Informatics, Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Muhammadiyah Malang, as an adjunct lecturer. In my first semester, I taught Artificial Intelligence, Advanced Programming, and Mobile Application Programming.
I passed my PhD viva at the University of Warwick.
I submitted my PhD thesis, titled “Automatic Sign Language Recognition Using Colour Image Representation of Dense Optical Flow and Multi-Cluster Optical Flow Map”.
I gave a presentation on my research into a hand-tracking algorithm for sign language recognition at the School of Engineering Postgraduate Symposium 2022.
I presented a poster on my research into a hand-tracking algorithm for sign language recognition at the School of Engineering Postgraduate Symposium 2021.
I launched my first personal website.
